Here’s a little something to let you know how THE KLICK came to be the rockin band that it is.
My name is Jeff School, I was hanging out at my buddy Lloyd’s house one evening playing guitar and partying (imagine that) when there was a knock at the door. Well in walked this guy that Lloyd’s friend new carrying a sax case. He introduced himself to me as the Saxman (Tommy Karol). We partied and played music all night in Lloyd’s living room. This was on a Wednesday night in June of 2003. That following Friday I was scheduled to DJ the Fayette City Fireman parade. I called Tommy up to see if he would like to play for these people and he showed up and we rocked them for two hours straight. We been playing together ever since.
Tom and I started a two piece band and learned a bunch of good tunes. We played at a bar called Ick and Flo’s in Monongahela where we held a jam night for two years. You could say we had a groove going on and there was one guy who wanted to be a part of it. His name was Ray Hainey (Ray Ray). We got to a point where we needed a name for the band and one day Ray Ray said I want to be a part of your click. Well thanks to Ray Ray we are now known as The Klick.
Our two piece band went on for two years playing all over the valley. Then one day while we were playing the Hilltop Fireman’s Club in Monessen, we decided we needed a change. So we went to work looking for three great players which I must say wasn’t too hard to do. The Mon Valley is full of good musicians. Well we ended up with Billy Gaidos one of the best drummers I have ever played with, Alex (dog) Amicarella an awesome bass player from the Sutersville and Allen Granus one of the greatest guitar pickers around.
Since this has been written, we no longer have a sax player in The Klick and he will be sadly missed!!!
So if your in the mood for some good rock-n-roll make sure you look up!!!
